Durban based blogger Riona Maharaj (CrazyRio) was keen to try out some of our products. Riona is a mum of three daughters ages 9, 8 and 5, who started a lifestyle blog three years ago which progressed to a very successful Instagram page.  Her husband is a medical doctor who prefers to shy away from the world of social media unless absolutely necessary. Nutty Lindt Luxury Granola with Activated Charcoal

The most awesome thing about making things at home for my family is that I can add all the things they like in surplus plus the girls really enjoyed getting involved with this one. They each got to choose an ingredient they enjoy to make up this yummy breakfast treat which is far healthier than their sugary cereals.

You will need
I cup of melted coconut oil
1 tablespoon of melted butter
2 Tablespoons of honey or maple syrup ( you can add more or less according to taste)
3 cups of rolled oats
1/2 cup of Macadamia nuts
1/2 cup of cashews
1/2 cup of walnuts
1/4 cup of coconut shavings
3 tablespoons of cocoa powder
2 tablespoons of NatureLife SA Activated Charcoal Powder
1 slab of Lindt 70% dark chocolate chopped roughly
1 teaspoon of sea salt .

Preheat oven to 180 degrees
Combine oats and wet ingredients and give it a good mix. Thereafter add the cocoa powder and activated charcoal powder.
Add all the nuts and salt and mix it together.
Using a flat oven tray place the mix on ( remember to line the tray with any non stick product).
Bake in oven for 25 mins.
Remove from oven and add coconut shavings and put back into oven for 10 more minutes (watch it as coconut can burn quickly)
Remove from oven and allow to cool properly for an hour.
Add chopped dark chocolate bits and store accordingly.
These also make for great homemade gift ideas.

Add some yoghurt and blueberries and enjoy!

Activated Charcoal Smoothie Bowl

1 banana

1/4 cup of almond milk

1/2 tablespoon of spirulina powder

1 tablespoon of NatureLife Activated Charcoal powder

1 scoop of vegan chocolate protein ( I use regular milk when making for the kids)

Blitz for a minute

Pour into a bowl. Drizzle maple syrup and top it with blueberries or whatever fruit I have at home and some granola. It tastes like a dessert and is extremely delicious. The kids love it despite the colour, so that says a lot.
