Your Kidneys and Uric Acid

The kidneys are two bean-shaped organs in the renal system, situated in the back of your abdomen under your lower ribs one on each side of your spine, which perform many crucial functions including:

  • pass waste as urine
  • maintaining overall fluid balance
  • regulating and filtering minerals from blood before sending it back to the heart.
  • filtering waste materials from food, medications, and toxic substances
  • creating hormones that help produce red blood cells, promote bone health, and regulate blood pressure

Metabolic Acidosis

The kidneys are needed to remove acid from the body but a build-up of too many acids in the blood can occur when the kidneys are unable to perform this vital function. This can result in a condition called metabolic acidosis.

When your body fluids contain too much acid, it means that your body is either not getting rid of enough acid, is making too much acid, or cannot neutralize the acid in your body. As acid builds up, kidney function lowers, and as kidney function lowers, acid builds up. This can lead to the progression of kidney disease and decreased renal function.

Your kidneys’ new best friend

Lifetones Acid Clear helps to neutralise excess acid in the body as well as assist the Kidneys with removing excess acid from the body.

Dehydration is a common cause of acidosis.

It is important to drink lots of water while using Lifetones to allow the kidneys to do their job effectively. Mild dehydration can make you feel tired, and it can also impair normal body functions. Severe dehydration can lead to kidney damage, so it’s important to drink enough water when you work or exercise very hard, especially in our warm and humid weather.

What if you already have a kidney disorder?

Lifetones is safe to use with a kidney disorder but we recommend taking low doses of 5 drops 2 x daily. Patients suffering from kidney disease are frequently told to restrict their water intake which results in elevated acid levels in the body. Many people on diuretics develop gout because of this, particularly when the reason for the kidney problems in the first place is due to high acid levels.
